Ah well. It was a nice outlet for the creative juices. And y’know, I’m kind of fond of that first panel.

This post was written a long time ago, and my views have almost certainly evolved since then. Please keep that in mind while reading, commenting, or sharing.
For a while now, I’ve been looking for a piece of my art from when I was younger. I’ve always thought it would be fun to look at something that seemed really significant at the time, and then look at it now, laugh at it, and just marvel at how far I’ve grown. This didn’t used to be such a deal– for a while, when I was younger, I would constantly redraw sketches. Believe me, in Young Spencer-land, redrawing something was just as good, if not better than coming up with something new. (Actually, this hasn’t changed a bit.) But I’ve fallen out of that practice, as delightful as it may be1Now I draw things that other people have already come up with. and I don’t look at my old art nearly as much anymore, which brings us right back to this quest to find some older art and make fun of it.
Well, I’ve found it– possibly the most bizarre, strung-together, and poorly-drawn thing I ever made and subsequently thought was fantastic. There are really only two possible courses of action when viewing this thing: either A) adore it and use it as a sign of how cute and youthfully stupid I was, or B) mock it mercilessly.
(For my sensitive readers, there’s going to be some swearing in this one. It’s all meant with humorous intent, but if that will offend you, please take note.)
